A voucher system is used as well as a good selection of non perishable items.

A Crisis Fund has been established to assist needy families in emergency situations. Please see contacts above.
The food bank is a registered charity, tax receipts can be sent for donations over $10.00

Welcome to Athens
The Township of Athens is a very busy community that enjoys the services offered in larger areas but in a rural setting.
The township spans an area approximately 127 square kilometers and is located about 25 minutes north west of Brockville off County Road 29.
Athens is home to 3,053 residents with two schools and six active churches.
Athens is home to a wide variety of businesses, a Medical Centre with Doctors and a Chiropractor, a Community Hall, several community groups, and many tourist attractions.
Athens offers something for everyone - young and old.
- Charleston Lake - offers numerous summer and winter recreational activities for the whole family
- Athens Lions Club / Farmersville Steam Fair and Craft Show - a two day event with a large parade at the end of the show, 3rd weekend in July
- Chamber of Commerce / Cornfest Day several events throughout main street during the day with a dance at Centre 76 to close the event filled day that evening, 3rd Saturday in August.
